In the spirit of my alma mater's tradition
I made a holiday story of my own rendition.

Now finals are finished, another semester to go
One more left and a thesis to give me whoa.

It's been deadlines and coffee as usual in grad school
The calendar says holiday break, but don't let it fool.

My thesis is due in less than two months,
around eighty pages total, 150 books home my car shunts.

Hopefully I'll have my fill of holiday cheer
phd. applications make even the prohibitionists drink beer

Family and FOOD and the seasonal good cheer
From writing and celebrations my mind cannot veer

I'm ready to go home after the hanging of the green
even though new friends and even a hot girl is new to my scene.

Graduation seems far but is yet so near
Stephen Colbert will soon be here

Maybe I'll try to make more time to blog
people will drink it, but I'm not a fan of egg nog

So have a great holiday spread peace, comfort and Joys
I'll get to watch my niece and nephew play with some new toys

These times of the year are worth more than gold
unfortunately though, I'm starting to feel old.

Thanks for reading my rantings of holiday bliss
I hope my mom remembered I'm not a fan of the minty Hershey Kiss.

Happy Holidays to all and have a good night
my advent wreath has two candles now, burning really bright
