Ocre farm.

I was extremely disappointed when I heard that we weren't going to make it to the archeological site at Glanum today. i was looking forward to seeing some Roman architecture. The sun and rain were out today and we went to an Ocre Farm and to a near by city Roussillon. It like Lacoste is perched at the top of a hill, but clearly makes good use of the Ocre as you can see its orange and yellow earthy tones.I took a lot of pictures of both the farm and the city, so I think I'll do it in too groups the farm itself and the town. They're trying to reschedule the regular trip, but nothing has been set yet.Tons of Pigment.^Stove where they oxidize the yellow pigment to make red.^The ocre farm.^
After they harvest the blocks they grind it up^We then used the pigments to make paint. The also have kind of a cultural center there that focuses on how to make natural paints and colors from items found in nature.^
